Admissions Process
At Turning Point, our goal is to make the process of finding help simple and stress-free. Below are four easy steps to get started:
- Contact us: You can call us directly or submit an online inquiry. When you reach out to us, you will talk with one of our knowledgeable, friendly admissions advisors. We’ll take the time to discuss the concerns you’re facing so that we can understand how to best support you.
- Verify insurance and discuss financial information: We’ll verify your insurance benefits, discuss the financial options available to you, and give you a personalized quote. As Utah’s longest-standing in-network provider, we are proud to make high-quality treatment affordable and accessible.
- Assessment: Our team will thoroughly evaluate your needs to determine the most appropriate level of care, whether that’s residential treatment, outpatient programming, or transitional living. If you require detoxification services, we can coordinate with off-site providers to facilitate your treatment.
- Intake scheduling: Once we’ve identified the right program for you, verified your insurance, and answered your questions, we’ll schedule your intake at a time that works best for you. We can also provide transportation if necessary.
Throughout the entire process, we focus on establishing trust and maintaining transparency so that you always feel informed and respected.
Admissions Assessment & Program Eligibility
Identifying the best treatment path begins with a comprehensive assessment. Here are some of the key factors we consider when recommending a level of care:
- Type of disorder: The specific disorder you’re suffering from — whether it’s a mental health disorder, a substance use disorder, or both — will influence how we approach your treatment. Our team will work closely with you to design a care plan that addresses immediate concerns and the root causes of your struggles.
- Severity of symptoms: The intensity of your symptoms plays a key role in determining program placement. Severe symptoms may require a higher level of care, while milder symptoms can be managed in a less intensive setting.
- Treatment history: If you have previously received treatment, whether at our facility or elsewhere, we take this into consideration. Depending on the amount of progress you’ve made, you may benefit from a step-down level of care.
- Personal goals and life constraints: We also want to know what you hope to gain from treatment — whether it’s improving mental health, achieving recovery from addiction, or enhancing your overall well-being. At the same time, we recognize that daily obligations, such as work or family responsibilities, can create barriers to achieving these goals. We strive to place you in a level of care that meets your unique needs and respects your time commitments.
Based on this assessment, you may be eligible for one of the following programs:
- Residential program: Intensive, round-the-clock care for people who have acute symptoms
- Partial hospitalization program (PHP): Structured, daytime treatment for those who have moderate symptoms
- Intensive outpatient program (IOP): Flexible, focused care for those who have mild symptoms
- Transitional living: Supportive environment for those who are working toward recovery while practicing independent living skills
