Rich empowers individuals and families to overcome substance use and mental health obstacles by equipping the individuals with the tools needed to connect with self and others. Rich utilizes evidence-based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with a person-centered approach. Rich believes that the key to overcoming substance use and mental health is to address past stresses and potential traumas, become engaged in the present with mindfulness, practice positive thinking and medication management when necessary. Rich guides clients to invest in their vision of the future by establishing SMART Goals.
Rich graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah focusing on Experiential Education. He later completed his Master’s Degree at Prescott College with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Rich has three boys that are the focus of most of his time when he is not working. He also enjoys travel and many outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, road biking, and dirt biking.
